Refunds & disputes

Donations are payments to the fundraising organization via Stripe Connect, not payments tied to a specific voting option. Organizations are primarily responsible for refund requests related to their campaigns. There is no refund because a voted option did not win, or because the organization used voting results differently than a donor hoped.
How refunds work
- Donor contacts the organization or Vote2Give support.
- Eligible refunds are issued through Stripe; platform fees on fully refunded charges are typically returned per Stripe's Connect fee behavior.
- Card disputes (chargebacks) are handled under Stripe's dispute process; organizations may be liable for dispute amounts.
